UPDATE: Arrived safely back home. I was only able to stay about an hour. There was an exhibition of Andy Warhol's Polaroid Portraits. Andy Warhol’s Polaroid Portraits offers an unusual look at the intimate relationship between the photographer and his many subjects. Photographs of famous figures such as Dorothy Hamill, Sylvester Stallone, and Mrs. Carter are featured along with lesser-known subjects such as Alphanso Panell, the latter a study for Warhol’s 1975 series Ladies and Gentlemen.

At 1 P.M tomorrow I will be at Gwinnett Tech with Gregory Heisler and Denis Reggie. If you don't know who they are then I'll tell you who they are. They are both amazing photographers. Gregory is from New York and has shot 74 TIME Magazine covers. Denis is a wedding photographer here in Atlanta. He has coined the phrase "wedding photojournalism". I am so excited.

Tomorrow is going to be an interesting day. I have to finish up everything for my Humanities class, which includes a trip down to the Carlos Museum by Emory, a Dream House Project which I'm doing in iMovie AND a few papers. I have to be at school by 12:30. And work at 3:30. Yay.

I had my first encounter with the Emergency Room Tuesday morning. After numerous blood tests and an ultra sound the doctors think that I have a kidney stone. They couldn't find it, but with my symptoms that's what they think it is. I have never experienced this much pain in my life. I wouldn't even wish this much pain on my worst enemy. Thanks to some pain meds that I am taking religiously every 4 hours, it seems to be alright.

Wedding Photography

Today in class we talked about wedding photography. A past graduate from Gwinnett Tech, Marc Climie has made a great career out of it. Marc was recently awarded by the Wedding Photojournalist Association, an association governed on principle that judges strictly on the merits of photography and not on stylistic digital manipulation.He also has a blog. To the Taxidermist

On my most recent trip to the taxidermist, I was able to photograph the skinning of a fox squirrel. Pretty gross right? Oh and it was, but it was still cool. I chose to photography taxidermy for my photo essay in photojournalism and I'm so glad that I did. The guys there are so awesome and are more than happy to help me out with this project. Not that they have to do much, just their jobs. I have also learned some interesting things while doing this. Maybe a new hobby... maybe not.

In photojournalism we recently watched a video about the photographer James Nachtwey. He is an awesome photographer and focuses on war photography. The video is very emotional and graphic.

A film about the American photographer James Nachtwey, about his motivation, his fears and his daily routine as a war photographer. If we believe Hollywood pictures, war photographers are all hard-boiled and cynical old troopers.

How to Change the Size of your Audio Player

Are you interested in changing the size of that black box for your interview? It's simple. Below is the original code. I changed the height to "60". Make sure its in both places. Try different heights and widths. If you want to get rid of the black box all together, change the height to "20".

Time Lapse

Time Lapse has always been very interesting to me. You can do it through video or by just taking pictures. This video is nice and short, and gets the idea out. Perhaps someday I will do something like this.

Today I went down to Atlanta with some class mates trying to find something post-election-y to shoot for photojournalism. To say the least, it was very uneventful. Rode the marta for a while, even to the airport... and nothing. Though I did get this shot of a baby sleeping. Cuteness. If only he were wearing an Obama button or something.

Photoshop CS4 is the 11th version of Adobe's venerable and industry-standard imaging application. It's hard to imagine that Adobe can continue to make large changes to Photoshop. Happenings Over the Weekend

Over all this weekend has been pretty good. I had some good photo opps and I wanted to share. The first picture was taken of the moon on Friday night. The second picture was taken in Helen, Georgia on Saturday during Oktoberfest.
