Underwater photography is cool. Taking this picture on land would be hard enough, just imaging being underwater.
Steve McCurry is an amazing photographer for National Geographic. Before I was even interested in photography this photo of the Afghan girl caught my interest. Her eyes are so beautiful.
Charles C. Ebbets was a photographer who took this very well known photograph during the construction of the Rockefeller Center in New York in 1932.
Mike Stimpson photographs legos. Thats about it. His lighting technique is great.
On my most recent trip to the taxidermist, I was able to photograph the skinning of a fox squirrel. Pretty gross right? Oh and it was, but it was still cool. I chose to photography taxidermy for my photo essay in photojournalism and I'm so glad that I did. The guys there are so awesome and are more than happy to help me out with this project. Not that they have to do much, just their jobs. I have also learned some interesting things while doing this. Maybe a new hobby... maybe not.
Black Friday... I think not. Its Ty-Dye Friday! Ty-Dye is such a cool thing and I found a tutorial on how to recreate it on photoshop. I can't wait to try it out.

In photojournalism we recently watched a video about the photographer James Nachtwey. He is an awesome photographer and focuses on war photography. The video is very emotional and graphic. 
In advanced portraiture we have an assignment due. Fashion is one of the the options. I find it really interesting and Richard Warren has some really great ideas to go from. Check out his work.
Gerbera daises are my favorite flowers. I have a a few growing in a garden and they are actually blooming right now. Its the middle of November. I hope they last. Tony Howell has some really great pictures of flowers.
Tonight I had the privilege of celebrating the 10th year wedding anniversary of some very close friends of mine. I have known them for just about 6 years now. It was a lot of fun. And of course I took pictures.
Today was my first out of three days shooting for holiday portraits. We had absolutely no one come in from 6-8. It was good to practice though, so I can't complain to much. For times and dates check out our holiday portraits blog!
Not quite what I had in mind, but something interesting I though I would share. I plan on shooting a taxidermist for photojournalism. Don't know exactly how it's going to play out yet. Check out Sarina Brewer's site. It's crazy.
Not really lost... I went over to Collins Hill park to take pictures for my fill flash assignment. Sara, my model, was great. Thank you so much. And thank you Jessica for letting me use your flash.
I love stumbling across random photographers on the web. This photo is by Evy Johansen. It reminded me of my fruit assignment with the 4 x 5 camera.
I fixed my header yet again. Dodging and burning can make such a difference. What do you think?
Tomorrow I will be heading down to Atlanta to capture the post-election for my photojournalism class. I don't know what will happen, but if anything is going down I hope I am there when it does. If you don't hear from me in a few days you will know why.
